Bright Volunteers

Though Bright Futures is all about the students it helps, we have built our program upon the support, knowledge, enthusiasm and mentorship of our volunteers.

We invite volunteers interested in tutoring Grades 9 and 10 students into our mentorship centre to participate in our goal to help all students succeed in and graduate high school. Bright Futures students look to our volunteers as community role models, therefore we are not limited to just tutors - mentors are always welcome, as well!

Both Bright Futures mentorship and our tutoring program are focused on success in high school and transitioning students into post-secondary education. Your experience can range from sharing an interest, sharing details about your career, hosting a student at your workplace or any other mentorship activities that connect to our program goals.

All volunteers are required to clear both a criminal records check and a child abuse registry check. The costs associated with these can be covered by Bright Futures but we also provide a tax receipt for those volunteers who wish to make a contribution or cover the costs themselves.

Learn more about volunteering as a mentor or a tutor, then download a Bright Futures tutoring and mentorship registration form in Microsoft Word or in .pdf format and get involved with our alternative education model today!  Email your completed registration form (include contact info for 2 references) to karen.guenther@7oaks.org or fax your completed form and 2 references to 204-927-3705.
