Bright Parents

Parent Guardians play a large role in helping shape young minds and guiding educational decisions. Bright Futures believes parents, students and mentors should work together to ensure success.

Our tutoring and mentorship programs offer parent guardians the comfort of knowing their child is in good hands when at Bright Futures. We pride ourselves on our involvement in helping students develop to their full potentials as learners, community members and overall global citizens.

Bright Futures program goals include providing your child with each of the following:

  • Knowledge, skills and support to help your child succeed in high school
  • Opportunities for your child to explore life, career and educational possibilities after high school
  • Visits to Manitoba colleges and universities
  • Support to apply for college, university or technical training
  • Potential to earn dollars to invest in a Registered Education Savings Plan that will help finance post-secondary education (up to $1000 per year of involvement in Bright Futures up to a maximum of $4000)
  • Bursary and scholarship application assistance
  • Community Service opportunities
  • Volunteer tutors with the knowledge needed to help your child through any homework challenge
  • Volunteer mentors willing to share experiences related to careers, life interests and talent development
  • Program staff to help advocate for your child's personal and academic success

Our belief is that a positive, involved collaboration is the key to your child's success and we are here throughout the process to help both our students and their parents.

The Parent FAQ has more information to help you determine whether Bright Futures is the best option for child's academic, social and community success.

While we want to help as many students experience success as possible, at present only a specific segment of the Seven Oaks School Division population is eligible for Bright Futures.

Read our Program Eligibility to determine whether your child qualifies for the program.
